IGNOU Grade Card status not updated? Here’s what to do
Many students face the problem that their marks are not updated. Here’s why it might happen and what you can do:
🔸 Common Reasons:
Not Completed can indicate that one or more requirements/components have not yet been completed or processed.
The assignment record is not updated.
Problem
You submitted your assignment, but the university has not uploaded your marks. If they do not update your record on the Dashboard, the portal will display ‘Not Completed.
Solution
Contact your study or regional centre along with ID card and assignment submission slip.

Your Assignment and Theory Marks Are Below the Passing Marks
If your assignment or TEE results are below the passing requirement, or your required components are not updated, your grade card status may show as Not Completed.
Project marks are missing or the project requirement is incomplete.
If your programme includes a project course, completing the theory examination and assignment alone may not be enough.
You also need to complete and submit the required project according to your programme guidelines.
What to Do If Your IGNOU Grade Card Is Not Completed
Step 1: Identify exactly which component is missing.
Step 2: Check your assignment submission status / exam details / project submission proof.
Step 3: Contact the Study Centre or Regional Centre.
Step 4: Keep screenshots, receipts and email correspondence.
Step 5: If the issue remains unresolved, consider an RTI request for information about the status of your record.

How Rahul Singh Got His IGNOU Grade Card status Updated: A Real Case Study
Is your IGNOU grade card not updated even after submitting all your papers on time?
Let me share a real-life example that could help you get your issue resolved faster — just like it did for Rahul Singh.
He enrolled in the BAPCH program, completed his Term-End Exam in December 2023, he waited eagerly for his mark sheet and provisional certificate.
But his grade card status was pending.
❓ What Went Wrong?
He had submitted all his papers on time, including for the subjects:
BPCC-111
BPCC-114
But even after four months, his assignment marks had not been uploaded on the official dashboard, his score card status remained not completed.
His Efforts Before Filing RTI
Rahul followed up several times:
He contacted his study centre three times.
He sent multiple emails to the concerned department.
Still, he did not receive a response.
🙋 How I Helped Rahul:
Rahul then contacted me, explaining his issue in detail.
I guided him to file an RTI application online on 1st February, which is a legal way to request information from a public authority.
On 8th February, Rahul received an official response from the university. The SED acknowledged the RTI and took immediate action.
Here’s what the Student Evaluation Division did:
They instructed the concerned RC to forward the missing assignment status (BPCC-111 & BPCC-114) immediately.
📸 Screenshot Proof:

✅ The SED also asked the regional centre to treat this matter as a top priority.
Thanks to the RTI, Rahul’s missing assignment marks were updated, and his result status changed to “Completed”.
This is an individual student case and does not mean every grade-card issue requires an RTI.
